Lux Experience has followed the well-trodden path towards rework superstardom, releasing material on Giant Cuts, Masterworks Music and Kolour Recordings before pitching up on Midnight Riot. Happily, the nostalgic Norwegian is once again in fine form, serving up a tasty, club-friendly cut-up of a lesser-known P-funk treat complete with boom-bap hip-hop vocal samples ("On Tha 1") before breathing new life into a boogie-era '80s soul gem in a Mullet Records style ("The Night"). Arguably best of all, though, is EP closer "City Vibes", which underpins clipped guitars, P-funk synth-bass and smooth vocal snippets with a rolling house beat.
