Step right in, Leroy Burgess makes his Midnight Riot debut with fellow cohorts the KulaKingz featuring brand new remixes from the labels very own Yam Who? & Jaegerossa.

Made in the depths of winter but with the summer in mind, we are proud to release ‘Holding On’ , a life affirming vocal from Burgess who without doubt has made some of the best 70's & 80's boogie & disco records of all time.

Yam Who? brings in immaculately programmed drums, a killer bass-line with Hamish Balfour adding new strings, keys and squelchy synths plus beautiful backing vocals added by Leanna Leid & Suki Soul, filing your life with joy.

Burgess started his career at the age of 16 as a member of Black Ivory and was their lead vocalist on the majority of their hits in the early 1970s. He chose to take a hiatus from Black Ivory in 1977 and developed several bands of his own, which include Convertion and LOGG, & had numerous club hits such as "Let's Do It", "Heartbreaker" and "You Got That Something". He developed several bands of his own, which include Convertion and LOGG, before joining Aleem, smashing dancefloors with "Confusion", "Release Yourself", and "Hooked On Your Love".

He worked intensively with the recently deceased legendary producer Patrick Adams in his various studio groups, Bumble Bee Unlimited, Logg, Inner Life, The Universal Robot Band & Dazzle plus co-writting Fonda Rae's big hit "Over Like A Fat Rat” & many more, all made famous by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage & continued to be loved by fellow DJs & dancers around the world!
