Edoardo Barbi first donned the Gledd alias earlier this month, contributing two Afro-tinged reworks to About Disco's On The Afro Funk Trail EP. This time round, he's in full on peak-time disco mode. Check, for example, opener "Better", where familiar horn lines and spacey synth solos cluster around his tactile grooves and carefully arranged Latin disco style samples. Barbi reaches for the filters on "NY City", a pleasingly loose but bass-heavy cut that borrows extensively from a once popular disco-funk workout, before rounding off proceedings via the thrillingly riotous, horn-heavy stomp of sweaty closer "Foxy".
